Methodology

We have invented an innovative concept for a CT machine, VisualiXe, that can make accessible such devices for much broader range of users than is the case today. To facilitate this the CT machine needs to be much smaller, much cheaper and easier to use than conventional CT scanners mainly used by larger institutions today.

To obtain this, we use a smaller and much lower cost detector that covers the entire field of view - the object - by means of scanning. We then use modern 3D printer mechanical methods to construct the scanning gantry.

The acquisition time for the 3D image will be longer than for conventional CT machines, but the quality will be high due to state-of-the-art detector electronics we are applying. As a part of that achievement we have developed a proprietary Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) to read out the data from the detectors sensor pixels.
